  • Presentation at Advanced Design & Manufacturing Expo – ADM Toronto (Canada) / The Current State of Battery Technologies: From Lithium-Ion to Solid-State Innovation
    Posted on 2025-10-28

  • Many thanks to Soeren Striepe for a nice joint presentation at Advanced Design & Manufacturing Expo – ADM Toronto.
  • It is very important that materials / cell / pack and process development happen synchronously.
  • A range of electrolyte film deposition approaches is pursued that are either close to existing wet slurry deposition processes used already in the Li-ion battery industry, or are adopted from other industries (such as extrusion / molding, electrospinning).
  • Electrolyte film post-treatment processes provide substantial differentiation through varying temperature ranges (UV curing at 25-40°C, moderate heating at 90-400°C, and high-temperature sintering at 600-1,200°C).
  • These variations affect liquid/dendrite permeability, achievable thickness (<10 μm target), process costs, and targeting of 'the right pin in the application bowling alley' (i.e. targeting the right beachhead application that enables scaling into adjacent applications with larger market volume).
