  • AABC Europe 2026 – Mainz (Germany) / A Product & Process Development Definition Workbench for the Climate-Tech Community
    Posted on 2026-05-23

  • At AABC Europe 2026 in Mainz last week, we introduced the 'Adjacent Excel File' to the 'Solid-state / Semi-solid Li-ion Battery Innovation & Patent Review' to current and prospective customers.

Adjacent Excel File — six methodology features
  • The poster conversations focused, more than I expected, on the methodology layer underneath the file — the design choices that make patent data useful for product and process development against the backdrop of the emerging value chain as reflected in the global patent landscape and public statements.
  • Equally appreciated were the privacy and transparency advantages of this approach.
  • Transparency: every prompt-engineering rule sits on the AI instruction sheet, and every one of the 4,000+ patent summaries in the file is generated under our carefully refined methodology (incl. OCR approach for patent PDFs), allowing teams to assess both consistency and coverage scope themselves.
  • Privacy: the file ships to the customer every 3 weeks and runs in their environment, so we don't see what users do with it. That separation is what lets serious teams dive into invention-making against their own confidential portfolios (provided LLM privacy is assured).
  • Domain expertise: since more than 4 years, we have been screening the battery patent literature for the most impactful patents, continuously commenting on the top 3 new patent families every 3 weeks in the semi-solid / all-solid electrolytes domain. This expert commentary is incorporated into the Adjacent Excel File as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) view layer.
  • Example output in response to the question 'Which polymer- or oligomer-based electrolytes exhibit the highest ionic conductivities?'.
  • A preview of the Adjacent Excel File is available for current and prospective customers, containing the full structure with 3 company patent portfolios. Please get in touch if you would like to learn more and try out the preview Excel file.
