Supramolecular ionic liquid electrolyte membranes using self-assembled molecular stacking to form ordered ion transport channels within a polymer matrix, combined with lithium metal negative electrodes.
Fiber-reinforced sulfide electrolyte membranes with phase-change toughening agents that absorb fracture energy at grain boundaries and arrest crack propagation. Further concepts address room-temperature transport in polymer backbones, mechanical strength without sacrificing electrode wetting, curing uniformity during in-situ manufacturing, compatibility between inorganic and polymer phases, electrode contact under stiff electrolytes, and environmental tolerance during production.
